For my leaders - at work, at home, in volunteer settings, within your friend group. This one is for you.
I trust you found yourself here because you care deeply about being a respected, fair and trustworthy leader. Below you will find The Leadership Triangle. Taught to me by an Executive Coach early in my career, I have used this triangle to effectively lead teams of 300+ people, manage my actions upper management and serve my 1:1 coaching clients in progressing their skills as brave, honest and empowering leaders.
This activity has 2 parts.

The Leadership Triangle
Persecutor
Disempowered
Quick to blame external circumstances. Rationalize and justifies instead of listening. Fake it till you make it type. Fears being the victim.
Feels hopeless and powerless. ‘Why is this happening to me?’ mentality. Thinks ‘poor me’ in challenging situations. Fear of embarrassment and conflict.
Victim
Rescuer
Feels guilty for letting others struggle or feel challenged. Will take on excess work to avoid others having to take it on. Mentality of I should help the ‘poor you’ type. Fears not being needed.
Creator
Empowered
Focuses on the result. Makes clear and concise requests as per their wants/needs. Takes responsibility for your own growth and positions.
Takes ownership. Committed to learning and openness to a variety of perspectives. Questions beliefs. Releases the need to be right.
Manages themself, not others.
Believes people are capable and creative. Allows others to be responsible for themselves. Practices detachment. Sets boundaries. Takes responsibility for what you want/ need. Insists people ask for what they want/need.

VICTIM to CREATOR

Seeks possibility and is solution focused for their group.
Willingness to open and honest conversation.
RESCUER to COACH

Listens to hear, not respond,
to their group.
Allows others to solve their own problems and be accountable
to themself.
